As a pilot project, off-grid villages in Cholistan will be provided with small solar home solutions consisting of solar panel and batteries to electrify LED, a small fan and a mobile. 37 villages with a total of 1,389 households have been selected for conducting the pilot project.
The project will also help in displacing inefficient energy source (kerosene and firewood) with a cleaner resource, thereby creating positive environmental impact. It will help develop market for solar PV systems in these off-grid villages by helping stimulate demand for such projects.
There were two categories purposed as a solution to electrify off grid villages based on family members.
Category 1- Family comprises of up to 8 occupants
Category 2- Family comprises of more than 8 occupants
